The scholarship adjudication committee is pleased to announce that our first “Red Quill Books Graduate Scholarship in Social Justice” has been awarded to Kanatase Horn who’s thesis focuses on a critique of the proposed application of private property on First Nations reserves. Kanatase is a graduate student in Canadian Studies at Carleton University. The award is for $500.00 which will go towards Horn’s graduate tuition.
As part of the mission of the Press we hope to launch many more of these scholarships.
Thanks to our adjudication committee (Justin Paulson and Adrian Smith from the Editorial Collective and Janet Siltanen who acted as an external) for their time and effort. It was a very difficult competition with many outstanding candidates applying.
